The Motor Primitives have been an influential force on a vibrant Madison music scene since 2003. Since 2006, the group has moved toward a unique and aggressive “Proto Pop Punk” sound that draws from, and feeds back to, a highly energetic fan base. The Motor Primitives have deep punk rock roots: drummer Robin Davies is formerly of SST band the Tar Babies; Ed Feeny was the longtime bassist of the Appliances SFB; and organist Jeff Muendel spent years with the Los Angeles band, Backbiter. The 4-piece band’s sound revolves around the strong female vocals of Pam Barrett (also on guitar) and features aggressive lead bass lines over an organ-driven sound that is unusual in today's sonic landscape. Add driving-yet-danceable beats, and the end result is a truly memorable live rock performance. |
