The Bifecta!

This ain't horse racing but we're happy to say that this weekend's show is a "pick of the week" for both the Onion and the Isthmus.

I don't have a copy of the Onion with me but the Isthmus had this to say:

After a lineup change, a renewed Motor Primitievs work up a heavier backing for smoky-voiced singer/guitarist Pam Barrett’s passionate take on Stiff Records-era rocking. Goat Radio and Sigourney Weavers open.

That's funny, I haven't smoked since I was 12.

Next time yer at the CC you might want to have someone check the sound on the Baldwin St side of the bar...the bass was blowing everything else away...couldn't hear the guitar at all ...or the organ really, which is hard to believe. Maybe you are going for a heavy bass sound...but it seemed unbalanced. At least one person who had never heard the MPs before complained about it. Vocals were muddy on that side of the bar too...for all the bands.

Sorry, that was not the intent. Three bands and no time for a soundcheck can result in unfortunate situations like that. The layout of the Crystal, bar in the middle of the room, sound board in a corner, is just weird and problematic, too, but I'm not trying to make excuses. Thanks for letting us know.
